Will Smith Wisdom About Life

Today’s post is about this absolutely amazing and inspiring Youtube video at the bottom.
(Going to be the best 9 minutes of your day)

I have always looked up to Will Smith since I was little.
Will Smith is a role-model for millions of people around the world. Everything he says in this video resonates so much with my own ideas and philosophies about life that I wanted to share it with you.

Will Smith’s Wisdom on life:

“I LOVE LIVING. I think that’s infectious.”

“Greatness truly exists in all of us.”

“We grew up with the sense that where we were almost didn’t matter.”

“Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft.”

” I’ve never really viewed myself as particularly talented, where I excel is ridiculous, sickening work ethic. While the other guy is sleeping, I’m working. While the other guy is eating, I’m working.”

“If you don’t dedicate yourself to becoming better every single day, you will never be able to communicate with people the way that you want.”

“The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is that I’m not afraid to DIE on a treadmill. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, but if we get on a treadmill together, there are two things:
1- You’re getting off first
OR
2- I’m gonna DIE
It’s really that simple”

“You don’t try to build a wall. You don’t set out and say ‘I’m gonna build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that has ever been built’. You say ‘I’m going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid’. You do this every single day, and soon you have a wall.”

“If you are not making someone else’s life better, then you are wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other people’s lives better.”

” The first step before anyone else in the world believes it is that YOU have to believe it.”

These quotes are all taken from the video below.
I really suggest you watch it. Like I said: the best 9 minutes of your day :)

Hey Diggy, Thanks a lot for sharing this…It’s really too good….Thanks, again…

  2. “If you are not making someone else’s life better, then you are wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other people’s lives better.”

Diggy, thankyou. This gave me chills. He is a remarkable man.

By these two question I live each day:
Today, have I listened more than I have spoken? Today, have I given more than I have taken?

Smith’s truths are fundamental to living a wholesome life. Living with social responsibility isn’t a difficult thing if you take yourself out of the equation.

    Thank you again Diggy.

  5. Wow! So Will Smith is more than a good actor. I had this sense about him of being truly happy and fulfilled with his life. The man seems to also have some powerful core beliefs about life and success. I don’t see this very often with actors. A lot of them are walking cliches.

This is awesome and just points out some of the key characteristics of successful people:

    1. They live on their own terms.
    2. They have insane work ethics and they don’t take anything for granted.
    3. They have a long term view.

The above might seem simple….but it’s not. Thanks for sharing.

Indeed it is not always as simple as it sounds, but when I saw this video, it just reminded me that there is no excuse not to get to where I want to be. If Will Smith can do it, so can I :)

  9. I have always been impressed by Will Smith’s maturity and thought-process. I think he has developed a great mindset for living life to the max.

    Thanks for sharing

  12. brian papa says:

I see Will Smith stole a few quotes from your previous favorite quote post! :)

Joking aside, I’ve always been a super huge fan of will smith, even before he had a facebook fan page :)

He’s so committed, so happy and obviously in love with life. I love these people.

You, Diggy, seem very in love with life as well, and i think it’s the quality that’s attracted much of your readership!

finally, Will speaks a lot of choice and making a decision. ON that note, the best book i’ve ever read on this subject is the power of decision by raymond charles barker. check it out. it truly is a mind awakener.

    thanks for the excellent post!

Yeah Will Smith is totally inspirational!! I have yet to read the book he recommends (The Alchemist) and your book too. Wow, I have such a list of awesome books to read. I think I’ll have plenty of time when I’m on my trip though :)

      Have a beautiful weekend!

  13. JB King says:

The video is closer to 10 minutes than 9. Just had to point that out, but it is a good use of time listening to the intensity with which he believes what he is saying. Quite an inspirational post there Diggy.

This also reminds me of how Will Smith has grown and adapted from being the rapper that said, “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” to his TV show to movies and returning for the occasional music project to producing stuff. I hope his company is successful in producing stuff that is good for the world that may not get made otherwise. If that sounds sad, it is because it is sad, at least to me.

  14. bretthimself says:

YES! Saw this when it was posted on RSD. I myself was surprised at how awesome Will Smith was – my estimation of him rose about 1,000 times after I saw this vid.

    Just golden, man.

Innnn West Philadelphia, born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days…haha (in case you don’t know that is the theme from Fresh Prince of Bel Air)

I like Will Smith a lot, but I never knew that he was this in touch. He seems to be very enlightened and knows the secrets to success that most incredibly successful people seem to know. I read The Alchemist again a couple weeks ago, it is one of my favorite books as well…I guess now I have something in common with Will Smith. :)
I loved this video, it is something that I am going to bookmark because it will serve as a great reminder when I am not quite feeling up to a task.

My favorite part of this video is when he talks about attacking fear…When you attack fear it goes from being a major burden to a minor side note. Thanks for this, I kind of needed it today.

I agree, this video is the CURE for whenever someone is feeling down. I will definitely recommend it to anyone!

      Thanks for stopping by :)

  16. Srinivas Rao says:

I never knew that Will Smith was such an inspirational guy. He really has a way of breaking things down that can help us achieve our goals. It’s like Brian Tracy, trapped inside The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air :)

  17. Very inspirational Diggy!

Will Smith is an amazing human. Talent and humility are a rare combination.

People at the top of their fields, like Will Smith, always talk about focus, hardwork, dedication, contribution, etc.

People who are fantasizing about success talk about quitting work, making easy passive income, low hour workweeks, work/life balance, lifestyle design, finding your passion etc.

I think it is obvious which method is more effective. I choose the Will way.

      Loved your latest interview :)

I opt for the Will Smith way too! I really like how you broke that down saying how people at the top talk about hard work and people who fantazise about the top think about an easy life!

      Have a great weekend! :)

  18. Diggy, great post, inspirational, and Will is funny, too, of course! I like he hits on work ethic and personal responsibility but also on helping make others’ lives better. That’s so important.

I never saw the video before, either. I’ll definitely be passing it along. Thanks for sharing it!

Hey Diggy. This is a wonderful video and I love the quotes that you had put up in the article. I love the quote on the threadmill where he says the only 2 thing that can happen is either the other guy is going to get off first or he dies. It is inspiring and thanks for sharing this.
