Hi, just found you by accident, couldn't get that Henry Ford quote quite right, so googled it and it led me here! I guess it's related to the idea that what you give out, you get back. So if you think you're ugly or useless or whatever (or you were told it when you were small)you give that negativity out and it hangs over you like a cloud. So, yes, your thoughts actually become your 'reality'. I'm off now to read about Labeling theory!! Thanks for all the thought-provoking posts.

Hey Tim!
Glad you found Upgradereality! :)

Yeah I have heard that quote many times, and I agree with it. Many people are scared of reaching their goals. Once they get close to it they either feel they do not deserve it or that it is too good to be true, and then somehow they sabotage their own success. Very strange psychological phenomenon.

Love this post Diggy.

Ironically I found it searching for the source of the Henry Ford quote mentioned, to inspire a friend who went online at my encouragement to find some information.

To my surprise they went to a forum and had people CONFIRM that his project was indeed difficult (I've done the same project and know it's pretty easy), instead of actually looking for the information on HOW to do it:-?

So I replied to him with the Henry Ford quote, which led me here:-)

I'll add my favorite quote, i hope you like it:

"Our greatest fear is not that we're inadequate, our greatest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure."

Marianne Williamson

Thanks for the great post,

Tim
