The 7 Links Challenge |
Today I was challenged by Dragos Roua to what is called a ’7 Links Challenge’. The challenge idea originally came from Darren Rowse at Problogger.net.
So here it is:
The first published blog post on Upgrade Reality is in fact a post called The Power of Raw Food. Short and sweet but still relevant.
Be True to Yourself – Tyler Durden Style. Fight Club is my favorite movie of all time and I’ve seen it more than 10 times. I really enjoyed writing this post about the very true principles and lessons that you can take from Fight Club and apply to your own life.
Sometimes I just feel we are all so much like Ed Norton’s character in the movie, following a system of social conditioning. We trade our time doing things we hate so we can make enough money to buy stuff that we don’t need. Sometimes I just feel like letting go of all the rules and regulations and be like Tyler Durden.
The most commented blog post on Upgrade Reality is one that I wrote as one of the first articles I published called This is What It’s Like Being a Hot Girl.
It went viral on Stumbleupon (A social network) and received around 30 000 views in 2 days. Unfortunately at the time my site looked like a mess and I didn’t even have a subscribe option. I was still clueless as to how the blogging world worked at that stage.
Written by my friend Glen, Expression not Impression is a post I can really relate to. It’s still one of my favorite posts on his former personal development blog Pluginid.
Minimalism is the New Consumerism. Not only do I like the title, I really enjoyed writing this post about minimalism and what I beleive is the best way to apply minimalism to your every day life.
One of my earlier posts that I wish more people would have read is The Timing is Never Right. It contains a good message and inspiration to stop waiting for the perfect moment and act right now to get the results you want to achieve.
Without a doubt the most visited post on Upgrade Reality is A Dog’s Purpose (from a 6 year old). It was about a story I received via email one day with a very strong message about the beauty of life that I wanted to share with my readers.
Thanks for the challenge Dragos ![]()

Hey Diggy,
I knew I was right to challenge you on this one, there’s is so much you can learn about a blog (and, most of all, about the blog owner) just by looking at those links.
All the best
Cheers! Great challenge idea!
What a great idea, I love this, such a quick and powerful way of summing up the essence of your blog!
Thanks Topi:)
You can do it too.
Yes, that was fun. You can learn a lot about the blogger and blog readers in general from this. I love the what it’s like being a hot girl story!
Hey Annabel, thank you:)
Hope all is well
Nice man! I will have to give this a shot. It’s so interesting to see people’s first post and which one’s they enjoyed writing the most…that’s why we do this!
Hey Diggy!
Oh god. It took me 5 minutes to read this post and another 30 to check out your links, and another 30 to which I got lost in the discussions.
I really like this idea, my most enjoyable post would definitely be the one where you posed as that hot girl lmao.
Hopefully I’ll have time to finish reading the rest of your links.
Hope you’re doing good, cheers!
Hey Parker!
Haha, happy to hear that you enjoy reading my articles:)
Ebook launch Monday!
woohoo!
Diggy
Dude – LOADS of cool stuff here.
Tyler Durden is perhaps my favourite of your posts. There’s a couple here that I missed, so I’ll get onto them now.
Good stuff my man!
Tyler Durden is so awesome!
Cheers Carl!
Cool idea, I might try this also.
I’m curious, does the “dog’s purpose” post have more visits than the “what it’s like to be a hot girl” post that went viral?
Hi Eric,
I unfortunately don’t have the stats from my early days, but the ‘Dog’s purpose’ post received well over 30k views in its lifetime so yes I think it did do better than the other one:)
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Diggy.
It is cool to see the various responses I have seen to the 7 links challenge that I also did due to Dragos. That expression/impression article of Glen’s sure did send the right message about what is valuable and what is irrelevant in terms of relation with others. Impressing is worthless but I still try to do it often, when I should be expressing instead.
That minimalism piece sure does present it in an emerging light with that thoughtful title.
Hi Diggy,
This is a brilliant article and I’ve never seen this concept before, but it works really well.
My favourite link was the “Expression not Impression” by Glen.
Great job!
