Today’s interview is with an Irish polyglot named Benny Lewis from Fluentin3months.com.

I’ve personally seen Benny being mentioned around the web A LOT in the last couple of months.

I became a big fan when I watched this video:









Benny is Irish and he studied engineering. That sounds pretty mundane right?

Well, after he graduated, Benny went off to work in Spain and decided to dedicate himself to learning Spanish. Towards the end of his first year in Spain, all his friends were about to head back home to their respective countries and he had no choice but to continue traveling since he didn’t want to live in Spain without his friends.

This led to him learning multiple languages over the course of a few years, and it resulted in him starting the blog Fluentin3months.com. Little did Benny know that his blog (which was his own journal of language learning) would turn into a main source of income for him, with thousands of subscribers and monthly visitors.

Benny inspires and teaches others how to learn foreign languages in short periods of time, and he makes money from helping people do that. Currently he is in the Philippines learning a language called Tagalog, but he already has a new country and new language to learn scheduled for the month of March.

    Great interview. I studied German the last three years but for my next language I’d really like to combine it with traveling.
