Introducing Diggy & the 1000 reader challenge! |
Today marks the day of my very first video post!
I’ve been planning on creating some really cool videos when I go to Amsterdam with Glen, and decided I need to start playing around with videos and editing and getting some practice,so I took the oppertunity to make an official introduction of myself so you can get an idea of who I am.
I have also been challenged. Yes, challenged to a duel.
The challenger is Bud from Aboundlessworld.com, a similar blog to UpgradeReality, about self improvement and inspiration. Aboundlessworld had almost exactly the same amount of subscribers as UpgradeReality, and Bud is a really cool guy, so I accepted the challenge of reaching 1000 subscribed readers by 31 Dec 09.
I can see another blog post in this, something along the lines of ‘Get someone who is on the same level as you and challenge them to a hard but reachable goal’. It is very true that this makes you push harder. Instead of kicking back and wasting time, you are aware of the challenge and you go that extra mile to make extra good content, or interesting posts, or rent that space suit with a banner saying ‘Read my Blog’ and walk around a shopping mall.I think it’s beneficial to everyone, the two challengers who help each other grow AND the readers, who get that extra quality added.
I’ve hardly blogged about blogging, or about stats, or readers, and that is not my main intention. I want to keep writing the same for 10 000 people as I would for 10 people. However, what I do want, is that if my posts and content are genuinely good and inspirational, that I can get it out to as many people as possible. One of my goals is to make UpgradeReality a wildly popular self improvement blog, with a happy and active community of readers who help each other reach their dreams.

What a bummer I can’t see the video. Was it on YouTube? YouTube is blocked in China. Any chance of putting future videos up on Viddler.com too in future so those of us in China can watch them? Cheers.

Hm, it seems as if a few of you are having problems viewing the video. I never realized that Youtube gave so many problems.

Great to finally see a video, too. It’s funny how we can get to know each others’ voices through our writings, but you never really know what the person looks and sounds like until you meet in real life or they post a video!
