The Charles Schulz Philosophy -Little Secrets of Life You Never Thought About |

NOTE: I got sent this little story via email and wanted to share it with you. The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip:
You don’t have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them.
Just read the article straight through, and you’ll get the point.

Had to share — Thank you, Diggy!
Totally agree with that one Kim!
Thanks for stopping by!
Veery very nice, Diggy.
At first I was like this post better be good, but it’s not. It’s simple, pleasant, it’s awesome.
Now name five of your body parts you like the most!
Heya Tom!
Happy to hear that you liked it! Sometimes simple is the most awesome!
Cheers!
Great post – simple and effective. And I don’t think we’ll remember who are online friends are either! Social networking? What rubbish…
Hey Tempo,
I agree that most online connections will never really become close, but I have personally connected with people online who I have grown to be good friends with and who I have become friends with in real life too. I would not entirely discard social networking as rubbish
Very touching post! Thanks for sharing Diggy

So true that the most important people in the world don’t have to have money/achievements etc. – it’s those that have a genuine impact on people’s lives

You’re welcome, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Love it! I’ve read this before and it never gets old. Thanks for sharing this today … it’s made a difference in my day already
Glad to hear that Angie!
I love Charles Schulz. This whole article reminds me of a quote I found last week, from Charles Spurgeon (a theologian from the Victorian era):
Heya Kat!
Awesome quote, I’ve never heard it before! Thank you!
Hi Kat,
Such a wonderful post; had to tweet it. Thank You.
Namaste,
David
Diggy,
Thanks for sharing this. Yesterday I was on the phone with a girl from Harvard business school who had a summer internship offer from the company that I interned at while I was in business school. I was overcome by this old feeling of failure (because I didn’t get a job offer and went to a less known business school). This is a good reminder of the fact that most of that doesn’t really matter.
Hey Srinivas!
Yeah it’s strange. People we tried to impress when we were younger, grades in school, achievements, it is all so irrelevant now. What really matters are the people we care about and the fact that we are true to ourselves and live life the way our hearts tell us to live it.
I got this email from a co-worker also. It really does make you think about things and put in perspective what you are trying to do. Awards tarnish but people you have helped don’t forget. Awesome.
Diggy, I almost feel like posting a tweaked version of that second set:
1.List a few people that you schooled in life and helped teach life lessons.
2.Name three friends who you helped through a difficult time.
3.Name five people who you taught something worthwhile.
4.Think of a few people you have made who feel appreciated and special!
5.Think of five people who enjoy spending time with you.
Just to make a slightly less selfish set of questions.
I wonder how many people could name any Miss America winner in the past decade with ease though? That program that used to be so valued has lost some lustre and even changed networks I think, or I may be thinking of Ms. USA as I know one of the two has had problems getting sponsors.
Charles Schultz has been gone for a decade already. Can you believe that? It still gives me a bit of pain and he died just before Valentine’s day too.
Heya JB!
I agree with you, I hardly watch the news or know what’s going on around the world. I could not tell you who are winners of Idols, who won the olympics this year and who was miss USA. Yeah it’s sad to think that Mr. Schulz is gone.
Thanks for stopping by!
I just love this, thank you, what a lovely and refreshing perspective!

Hey Pam!
Awesome, welcome to Upgradereality! I’m happy to have you as a reader! Thanks for the comment and the tweet and good to hear that you read Glen’s blog too
I was just telling someone the other day what a genius Charles Shultz was. I devoured those Peanuts books all those years ago and am afraid of getting my hands on them again as I’d never get anything else done!
And your post on who makes a difference in our lives and how is a touchstone one.
BTW, we haven’t ‘met’ but thanks to internet protocols, I feel I’m free to waltz in and make myself at home here

Glad to hear mr Thoughtbubble. I don’t like people putting keyphrases in their comment names so I changed yours to Peter (because you never indicated what your real name is). I liked your comment so that is why I approved it
Feel free to let me know your real name so I can put it up.
I love how this really puts into perspective what matters most.

Thanks Diggy, this was so heartwarming and insightful at the same time! Totally picked me up and put a smile on my face.
Great way to put over a point man. I just read Glens post on your redesign. You guy must have been serious computer geeks when you were younger. Lol, I love it.
This post made my day. It has given me many ideas on which I can blog about. I have been a fan of dilbert but seems i need to venture to other places too.
Hey Amit,
Happy to hear you enjoyed the post!
Elegant and beautiful! I love that you used Charlie Brown to illustrate. One of my favorite difficult situations Charlie found himself in was when he had to make the “long walk” to close the distance between himself and the little red headed girl to ask her to dance. Torture!! I felt every foot drag. What a risk he was taking! We’ve all experienced that feeling. The people we share these heart-stopping moments with are the ones we’ll always treasure.
Hey Cheryl!
Thanks for stopping by
Haha, so you were an avid comic book reader? When I was little my favorite comics were Archie and Donald Duck. I read hundreds of those comics!
haha! I love Archie! I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to be Betty or Veronica
Come to think of it, I’m still undecided.
