Bill Gates to Jay Z – Wisdom And Quotes from 22 Incredibly Successful People |

Have you ever wondered why the incredibly successful people are so successful? Why have they achieved what they have achieved and reached a status of admiration and worship by the rest of the population?
According to the numbers theory there are always going to be a select few people who will be the best of the world. Out of 6 billion people it is inevitable that one of them will be the richest, one will be the fastest, one will be the smartest and so on and so forth. I do however believe that anyone has the chance to be successful and as long as they are healthy and alive, anything is possible. That is why I have created this post today, so that you can learn from the best of the best.
The successful kind of people I am talking about are people like Bill Gates, Jay Z, Russel Simmons, Oprah Winfrey, Lance Armstrong and many others. I have compiled a list of 22 incredibly successful people (who many of you already know of) and given a brief summary of what they have achieved. I have done some in-depth research about their mottos and philosophies of life and have definitely come to the conclusion that all successsful people have a mindset of hard work, passion and never giving up.
I believe that it is always good to study the methods and mindsets of successful people who have already achieved what you are dreaming of achieving. Without further comments from me, let’s read what these 22 successful stars believe.

Hey Diggy! Fantastic list! I love looking at quotes for some inspiration…
“Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, be passionate.””

However.. I think the quote from Tiger Woods is a bit inaccurate..
Heya Bud!
Glad you enjoyed the list! I also like that quote a lot!
Tiger Woods…hmmm. I couldn’t find anything inspiring as a quote from him but I wanted to include him.
Heya Diggy, loved the research done to pull out some of the best quotes to start this brand new month.
I’ve seen the quote by Will Smith appearing on a vid that went viral on Youtube called “Will’s Wisdom”. Good stuff.
Liked the one by Manny Pacquiao. Sharing that on my Facebook page.

Daniel´s last blog ..Never Let Your Past Hold You Back
Hey Daniel!
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the article. Yeah that Will Smith one is one of my favourites. I had never heard of Manny before I did the research for this article. The best boxer in the world and I didn’t know him. Proves that it is good to write articles, it teaches you things about the whole world
I find it interesting that we can find success tips and inspiration from people in such different areas: from business to art. Now I’m starting to wonder to what degree do these people truly understand the causes of their success. I’m gonna write something about this soon…
Eduard
Hey Ed!
Thanks for stopping by. The principles of success are pretty much the same in most areas of life, whether it be art or business. Interesting
I love quotes. Oscar Wilde’s my favourite for quotes, especially his supreme declaration:
I have nothing to declare except my genius.
Some of the old sayings are quite pertinent too. I mean things my granny said like:
If at first you don’t succeed try, try, try again.
Bud, I was wondering about Tiger’s quote too but it does say “main focus” – seems to come from a man who could keep quite a few balls up in the air at one time…
Hey miss Candy!
I have read a lot of Oscar Wilde’s quotes but I didn’t include him because I don’t think many people view him as someone from our current time who is successful
Tiger’s quote is indeed a bit vague but i couldn’t find anything that really stuck out.
Thanks for compiling this list, Diggy. Notice that most of these people have attributes in common: hard work, focus, perseverance, pushing your limits, etc. I think that these people show that any thing can be achieved with these.
Gordie´s last blog ..Short-Term Gains Are Shorter Term Than You Think.
Hi Gordie!
They ideed have many attributes in common yet I do believe that luck does have something to do with their success. Being in the right place at the right time and then applying those attributes is definitely a formula for huge success!
Amazing post! Thanks.
What really struck out for me was Will Smith’s quote. Great empires were never envisioned from the beginning. Facebook, Google, Microsoft all started from very humble roots where they did one simple thing very well.
Hey Mike!
Yeah Will Smith is a big inspiration to me, he seems to have a lot of wisdom. Indeed, most companies never set out to become multi billion dollar companies, they had a vision and a dream and they worked hard and were passionate about what they did.
Your post brought Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill to mind. A composite of traits (from decisiveness and persistence to belief and faith) that successful people (from the days of old) shared.
It’s great to see current folks on your list who share similar characteristics — they are inspiration in our life time.
It’s amazing how success begins simply in our thoughts!
Thanks Diggy
Heya Kim!
I love reading and learning about successful people and that is why I wanted to share it with the readers of Upgradereality!
You are welcome
Take care.
Oh, I just love quotes! I think so much wisdom can be acquired from the great thinkers that have come before us.
I hope you don’t mind me contributing to your article
A great nation is like a great man;
When he makes a mistake, he realizes it.
Having realized it, he admits it.
Having admitted it, he corrects it.
He considers those who point out his faults
as his most benevolent teachers.
-Lao Tzu
You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.
—Wayne Gretzky
We are what we repeatedly do; excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
—Aristotle
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Hey Sami!
THanks for stopping by! I don’t mind at all, add to the posts any time you want:) I really like the last one by Lao Tzu, very inspiring!!
DUDE…
This is f*cking awesome.
Excellent little collection… Brilliant.
Cheers.
I just read another one from Thomas Carlyle – “blessed is he who has found his work; let him ask no other blessings”
This resonated MASSIVELY – I’ve just quit my job to do what I love and life…is…awesome…
Anyway, gonna have a look around now.
Sweet. Lovin jigga on there too… Boom!
Great list – I really like the way you broke this information down and some great wisdom to keep coming back to here.
Cheers Jen!
Thanks, I needed that.
You’re welcome
Hi, Diggy… I really like this list! I think we spend too much time oogling over the wrong thing when it comes to celebrities… like who cheated on who and who wore what… but beneath it all there is a wealth of knowledge. If they actually focused on that, then maybe I might read celebrity ‘gossip.’
Hey Valerie!
Long time miss! How are you doing?
Gossip is not interesting, it’s a waste of time. Of course celebrities have a wealth of knowledge, many of them are successful at something so that experience is worth a lot
I like the one from Bruce Lee the most. He’s someone who I find really inspirational and amazing. All of them are great though, thanks for compiling this list.
Nate´s last blog ..reclaim your weekend
Ey Nate!
Bruce Lee has some great wisdom indeed!
Hi Diggy.
This is cool yo.
I like a lot of them.
This also reminds me of something I wanted to create as an article.
Glad to have read cool quotes, and nice layout.

Wow that was just the boost I needed! I love it especially Warren Buffett’s quote.. great stuff and super encouraging for entrepreneurs and people who live their own path.
Thanks Maren
Keep well!
Hey Diggy, nice list to gain inspiration from!
There’s another quote from Bill Gates I like very much:
“Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.”
Hey Zoli!
Yeah that one is a popular one and it’s very true. It is especially true in things like trading forex or other markets. If a beginner trader gets his first 2 trades correct or makes a good call he automatically thinks he is a good trader and that may cause him to lose everything he has because he just got lucky the first time.
Great article Diggy! My favorite quote from this list is Warren Buffett’s quote and I really like when a person is so optimistic, can only bring good luck.
Heya Tavia!
I like Warren Buffet’s quote too, it’s kind of “I know what I want and if you don’t like it get out my way”.
Glad you liked the article
Thanks for stopping by!
I really like these quotes. They are inspiring in more ways than one and I personally love any quotes as I believe everyone has something of value to add when they have the right things to say.
Great article!

Eric´s last blog ..Lets Help Each Other
Hey Eric!
Glad you enjoyed the quotes and thanks for stopping by:)
Great list, I always liked good quotes. One of my favorite Warren Buffet quotes (and I’ve heard slight variations on this) is: “It’s crazy to take little in between jobs just because they look good on your resume. That’s like saving sex for your old age. Do what you love and work for whom you admire the most, and you’ve given yourself the best chance in life you can.”
Diggy,
Another great post buddy. I love the idea here. All these quotes are so powerful. My favorite is probably Bruce Lee’s.
very inspiring post. quotes can offer so much inspiration, especially when organized in this kind of format. great way to start my day!
just a note – the quote for J.K. Rowling still has a part of text from the original source. You might want to clean that up.
